TRT: The Short Report

The one sentence summary: I did it.

Time: 28:29:19 (according to the engraving on the back of my buckle)

Place: 5th woman, overall: I have no clue, but top 30 I think.

How was it? Well, stay tuned for what is sure to be an epic length race report, but I will say that the last 30 miles or so were ugly. Very ugly. I also finally understand the race motto, "A glimpse of heaven, a taste of hell." Although I would say it was much more than a glimpse and a taste, on both counts.

Huge thanks go out to my pacer Sarah, without whom I definitely would not have made it, and to my husband Andrew for staying up all night and cheering.

  20. Hey lady, was just at the event website and you're on the front page. They said something about you wanting to quit at 76 but pressed on anyway after some rest. Way to keep one foot in front of the other. It's amazing how many of us suffered out there, from the front runners all the way through.

  21. Hey, wanted to see the results with the hope of telling you congrats about a week ago, but didn't have web access (except for a few minutes at some cafe in Tahoe City) on Wednesday. So, a week later, BIG CONGRATS at getting knocked up for the first time, look forward to the report. Mine was less epic, but had at least one amusing moment. I regret not getting my camera ready fast enough to snap you from the front.
